Every Wednesday!! Wayne Farmers Market in Goudy Park 3-7pm! Every Wednesday from 3-7pm in beautiful Goudy Park (behind Wayne City Hall) bring the family for an afternoon of fresh wholesome food, lively local music and a big dose of community spirit. This is Downtown Wayne’s most popular event and one of the best markets (or so we hear) in the area.

Saturday October 4th: World Hoop Day – MI in Goudy Park 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM $5 Admission

World Hoop Day is a day of performances and classes for those who are interested in hula hooping. But it’s not only about uniting hoopers from across the state, we also come together in the name of a good cause. 40% of proceeds will go to Wayne’s Downtown Revitalization effort.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: The Memorial Day Parade committee which meets at 7:30 p.m. on the last Wednesday of the month at the Harris-Kehrer VFW Post 3323 on Wayne Road at Avondale in Westland is in need of volunteers.

The Skate Park/Bike Park in Attwood

Friendly Quilters at First Congregational Church:  The quilters meet on Monday mornings at 9:30 am.  Anyone that would like to quilt is welcome. Located at 2 Towne Square in downtown Wayne (across from Library)

Higher Rock Cafe The Wayne-Westland Salvation Army hosts Higher Rock Cafe, an evening of Christian music, fellowship, games and concessions at 7:30 p.m. the fourth Friday of the month at the corps, 2300 Venoy, south of Palmer. There’s no cover charge. For more information  call (734) 722-3660.  

Every Wednesday at 7:30pm the Westland T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) non-profit weight loss support group meets at St. John’s Episcopal Church 555 S. Wayne Road in Westland. TOPS will give you the tools to lose. TOPS is open to men, women, teens and pre-teens that need to lose weight. All are welcome. Find support motivation, recognition, awards and more. The Wayne Lions Club is looking for new members. We are best known as the “Knights for the blind” Our primary involvement is helping those with vision and hearing impairments. The club has several fund raising activities and donates 100% of proceeds back to the community. The Club meets at 7pm on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday’s of every month at the China Star Palace Restaurant on Wayne Road south of Cherry Hill in Westland. The Wayne Rotary Club meets on Tuesdays at 12:05pm for lunch at the Wayne Community Center. Visit the Wayne Historical Museum for Year Round Free Family Fun!   Open for visitors every Thursday and Friday  from 1-4pm. The admission is Free to the Museum.

Master Gardeners of Western Wayne County  You don’t need to be a Master Gardener to enjoy our meetings. Activities include demonstrations, speakers and refreshments. If you are a Master Gardener each meeting counts as one hour towards your annual education requirement.
